Pinay Thrillseeker Got the Liebster Blog Award! ^_^

Twice! So I'm going to answer 22 questions.

Thank you very much to Momma Josie Bisett of Go Momma! for giving me this Liebster Blog Award. It's such an honor to have someone whose love story I admire so much give this award to me. I instantly became a fan after reading her love story. And sorry if it took so long for my reply.
Also thanks to Sittie Cates of The Musings of a Hopeful and Pecunious Wordsmith whose amazing blog I just found recently (because she gave me this award). The thought that she wanted to nominate me as one of her Emerging Influential Blogs for 2012 was enough to make me smile. And I hope we're both well now.
To pass on the Liebster Blog Award, here's what you should do:

1) Answer my 11 "not-so-hard" questions.
2) Think of 11 questions of your own.
3) Choose 11 worthy bloggers (who have fewer than 200 followers) to interrogate and pay it forward.

20,000 Pesos 3 Days, 3 Nights, DIY Singapore-Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide

As with all of my other DIY itineraries, this is cheap and time-efficient but quite strenuous. So far, this was the most strenuous itinerary that I had prepared primarily because I wanted to experience so much within a limited amount of time. Friends told me that our trip was too short to include Kuala Lumpur but since I am a stubborn one, I made it possible! :)

This itinerary was quite challenging to prepare given that I only had ten days before the flight to prepare this. I had no idea that I was going to an out of the country trip until 10 days before. Thankfully, Singapore is one of the countries which are easily navigable and with very helpful maps and direction guides in the internet. When we arrived, everything seemed so seamless (save for the need to run and hurry). I felt like I was already a resident there!

Within three days and three nights and with a 20,000 pesos budget per head, these were the spots that we were able to cover and things that we were able to try (February 20-23, 2012):

20,000 Pesos 4 Days, 3 Nights DIY Hong Kong - Macau Travel Guide

Here's the DIY itinerary that I prepared and used for our Hongkong-Macau Trip last August 25-28, 2010. We stayed at a guesthouse in Tsim Sha Tsui so you might want to check this out if you're going to stay there as well. Note that this is a bit tiring and tight for a 3-day itinerary but it worked for us and we were able to maximize our stay (Please don't blame me for leg aches should you decide to follow this itinerary). Rates are all on a per head basis.

DIY Hong Kong and Macau Trip: Tips on How to Ace It

Okay, during my trip with my high school classmates, I insisted on not availing a tour package. I volunteered to create the itinerary and be their tour guide for our stay. At first, a friend suggested a tour package and upon evaluation, I found it is such a big waste of time and money if we avail it!

Reasons to Smile

Today, something that I had been praying for failed to happen. I had one in 135 chances. I prayed hard for it, but the odds clearly weren't in my favor. I'd be a hypocrite if I say that I wasn't affected. I was shattered. I know things happen for a reason, but still, I have to have my ways to overcome what I feel. As my close friends know, ever since I learned how to write, I'd write whenever I'm depressed. My now defunct Friendster blog served me well in that aspect.

In fact, as soon as I learned to write, I write. Right now, I'm feeling carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms in my left hand, but I can't seem to let this sad day pass without writing anything to remind me of my reasons to smile. These past few days have been eventual for me and for this blog, and fortunately, they give me more than enough reasons to smile.

Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort - My Favorite Place in the Visayas

If I were to be asked what is my favorite place in the Visayas, I would answer, Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort. If I were to enumerate the reasons, here are my answers:

1. Perfect for budget travelers
Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort is easy on the pocket. During the time we went there last March 2012, a day tour only costs P 100/head, with additional P 50/head if you avail of their pick-up service.

Rushing to the Avenue of Stars and A Symphony of Lights

This was an itinerary filler and I am making a wild guess that if you were to ask my companions, this was their least favorite part of the trip and maybe, they already cursed me for it.

I happened to witness A Symphony of Lights on my first time in Hong Kong and back then, I was so amazed by it - mainly because it was a free attraction. Upon being aware of and witnessing that Macau had numerous free attractions which are better than Symphony of Lights, I had a change of heart.

My Love Affair with Hong Kong Ocean Park

Summer in Hong Kong Ocean Park
Dear Hong Kong Ocean Park,

You have always been one of my dream destinations since the first time I saw you on my mom's photos back when I was just four years old. As a child, I never thought I would have the chance to see you.

Why I Choose DIY Trips Over Tour Packages

Yesterday, I received a message from a tour service provider that I know. He was asking for an exchange deal with me. He offered me free trips while I have to write about my experiences with his company in this blog. I have known this tour service provider for a long time and while I joined some of his trips in the past, the only reason I did was because of the affordability. Other than that, I couldn't really think of anything that I could promote him for. If it's any consolation, I could at least affirm that he's legit and it's safe to make online transactions with him.
