My Second Time in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort!

Welcome to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort!
During my first time in Hong Kong, a visit to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort was the event that I was super excited about. Ever since I was in grade school, it has been my dream to see Mickey Mouse live. As I was a die-hard Barangay Ginebra and Bal David fan when they became PBA champions in 1997, the remark from my idol Bal David never left my mind. It was something like, "Ang saya makakapunta na ako sa Disneyland! Makikita ko na si Mickey Mouse!". Probably, the bonus for their winning the championship was a trip to Disneyland.

Normally, the excitement would lessen once it's already your second time to do something. Normally. There had been numerous circumstances when people told me I'm not err...normal, and this experience did nothing to prove them wrong. As if I had not been there before, my heart jumped with excitement knowing that I'd be there again!

wishful thinking: to be one of them
I just found him cute!

Thankfully, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has themes that are changing with the season so there were still some new things to smile about. These changes were mostly displays, though, and there were no new rides or new things to try for me.

One major disappointment was not being able to see the fireworks display - for the second time. The advisory was clear and strategically placed at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort's gate. There will be no fireworks display. My friend had the guts to ask the staff the reason behind it, and to our dismay, the reason was the mourning for the recent hostage-taking event in the Philippines.

The preemption of the fireworks display in itself was a bad news to us, and knowing that it was because of a Filipino's wrongdoing hurt us more. Come the supposed time for the fireworks display at 7:00 PM, we wanted to dock because it has been resounding in the whole park, "In memory of the victims of the recent hostage taking in the Philippines, there won't be a fireworks display tonight", via Hong Kong Disneyland Resort's public announcement system.
No fireworks but was so happy with this photo. :)
Because of the hostage-taking incident with Hong Kong nationals as victims that has just recently occurred in the Philippines prior to our trip, our Hong Kong trip had its unsolicited uniqueness and thrill to it. This event in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort was one of the things that we did not plan or wish for. Good thing it was not able to spoil our whole trip.
