Completing the list as soon as I can does not mean that I completed the list just for the sake of submitting an entry for the writing project. With the abundance of blogs nowadays, I carefully pondered on which are the ones which I find influential. I came up with a long list, but upon considering that the blogs should have started June 2011 onward, the list had to be cut - giving me my top picks for the Emerging Influential Blogs for 2012.
Hence, the blogs in this list are fresh blogs which I find influential - blogs that are carefully written; blogs which contain new information or thoughts that add to a reader's knowledge once the reader is finished with his or her visit; blogs that are inspirational; blogs that provoke forming of one's opinions. These blogs are informative while keeping up with the challenge to be enjoyable reads. I personally strongly suggest including these blogs in your reading list (if you haven't yet).
Note: These nominations are in no particular order.
1. Love Conquers All - (http://www.pinaythrillseeker.com)
The title is self-explanatory and has been proven true innumerable times, in various ways. In this instance, travel became the instrument for the blogger to see for herself that the statement holds true. Her love for travel made her discover things that she did not know she could do, and made her meet the love of her life! Imagine, she had to climb the country's highest mountain just to find him. To spread the love, she aims to share a very informative account of her travel adventures and misadventures to the world. As the blog started just three months ago, she is juggling her time in writing current travel stories and tips, and previous travel stories which were carefully archived in her mind and her heart.
2. The Ignored Genius - (http://theignoredgenius.blogspot.com)
The title in itself is compelling. This blogger's personal opinions on different issues that people encounter everyday would be able to make one ponder about one's own viewpoints. This blog is an eye-opener for issues in life that people often overlook.
3. [I am a Dekaphobic] - (www.dekaphobe.com)
Notable is how the blogger presents her idea, photos and reviews in a clear, concise way. Her entries, though mostly consists of few words, are enough to make you want to rush as soon as possible to the restaurant that she reviewed. Oh, and yes, this is a food blog.
4. From a Traveller's Desk - (www.fromatravellersdesk.com)
A blog from a man who is passionate about traveling, and whose motivation to blog is to help fellow travelers. Aptly titled "From a Traveller's Desk", the blog is a help desk for fellow travelers, featuring very useful reviews and tips not only from the blogger himself but also from his fellow travel enthusiasts who willfully share their stories.
5. Pondering Paodaolei - (www.ponderingpaodaolei.net)
The blog says that "traveling is food for the itchy feet". But more notable than that is the blogger's exemplary love for her own country, as seen in her entries specially made for her Motherland. Heartfelt literary pieces dedicated to the country are unfortunately rare to find nowadays, and it is such a blessing that there are still people like this blogger, who are firm in shouting their love for country to the world.
6. Vivi's Random Ramblings - (www.vivisrandomramblings.com)
This lady definitely has the talent for photography, the passion for travel, and thankfully, the will to share her stories to the world. The photos in her travel blog will simply make you feel, "I wanna be there, too!"
7. Between Coordinates - (betweencoordinates.com)
A uniquely presented travel blog. Her insightful entries for her Project 730 will keep readers attuned to what she would be sharing next. Hopefully, she gets to fulfill her dream to travel the world before she turns 30.
8. Rum-Punch Drunk - (http://rumpunchdrunk.blogspot.com)
According to the blogger, the aim of this blog is to stimulate discussion, straight talking and the free flow of ideas - just like the drink. Clearly, this blog is as intellectually stimulating as a blog can be, provoking readers to form an opinion and take a stand in whatever topic the blogger presents.
9. Mga Kwento ni Pareng Jay (http://jaygamay.blogspot.com/)
An honest-to-goodness blog about daily happenings in the life of Pareng Jay. Humorous as it may be, a reader will definitely learn something from his posts.
10. Life N Canvas (http://lifencanvas.blogspot.com/)
A repository of life lessons, combined with beautifully crafted graphic representations made by the blogger, that are effective in keeping readers' full attention. The life lessons are presented in a manner that is very easy to comprehend; a suggested reading material for all ages.
