Singapore: The Long Journey to Merlion Park (via Esplanade Park)

We finished our G-Max and GX-5 adventure at around 5:00 pm and we went on our way to the last item in our itinerary for the day (and for our short Singapore trip) which is the Merlion Park. Based on my research, we just had to get off at the MRT Raffles Place station and walk until we find the park. So walk, we did. We were quite confident because we had seen the location of the Merlion while we were aboard the Singapore Flyer a while ago.

Note to self: Never be so complacent.

We still got lost. Instead of Merlion Park, we found ourselves at the Esplanade Park. It was a very nice park with a beautiful bridge, by the way, so I did not mind getting lost, and even took photos. Well, if only my feet were not already aching due to our Amazing Race sort of trip, I'd enjoy it more.
lost...at Esplanade park (well just took a sidetrip, actually)
After realizing that we were in a wrong way, we decided to walk back, cross the street and walk towards the other direction. Unfortunately, we were at a wrong way again and I can't even describe how far we were from our actual destination because I felt like I've walked a few kilometers already (it might be true or maybe it was just because my feet were so sore).
headed and walked farther to the right (should have been to the left)
In the same street, we walked towards the opposite direction and finally got to our target destination. When we reached the Merlion Park, we just had some photos taken, and then headed back to the MRT station (it was already 6:00 pm and we had to get to the airport by 6:45 pm). The park was crowded and there are tour groups from different nations when we got there.
met Merlion...finally.
Before we went back to the MRT, we tried their version of dirty ice cream. You could choose to have the ice cream as filling in a sandwich or in wafer, and we both chose wafer.

After finishing with our dirty ice cream, we proceeded on our way back to Lavender to claim our baggage from Boots' friend but he agreed to go alone and let me just wait in the station because at that point, I couldn't feel my feet anymore. We were not in a situation to take our time and my feet ache would just lead to a slower pace. In the end, we still arrived at the airport later than the standard "2 hours before the flight" check-in time but good thing that there was not a big deal about it.
Because of my sore feet, I just stood here for half an hour. Because I was bored, I decided to take a photo.
Budget for this part of our tour (excluding transportation): S$2 (S$1 each for the street ice cream)
*There are no entrance fees for the Esplanade Park and Merlion Park.
