Unexpected Side Trip to Ambuklao Dam

Nothing could better define unpaved than the road from Mt. Pulag's registration area back to Baguio. It was a rough, zigzag, and cliffhanger ride, which will definitely succeed in keeping you awake despite the tiredness from the two-day hike. There are only a very few, gifted people who can resist the power of the Mt. Pulag to Baguio road.

We started the day at 3:00 AM. Our team was consistent on being the first. We were the first to get up, and found that everyone else was still asleep (because they "socialized" the previous night).

The First Team to Arrive at Mt. Pulag's Camp!

That's us! And no, I wasn't preggy!
Yes, that's us (including me on safety shoes! But with my own porter, of course!). Any mountaineer knows how crucial it is to be the first to arrive on camp, especially if you are in a massive company of other hikers. And this time, massive means massive. It was like we were going to have a rave party on top of Mt. Pulag.
