| Talahid Falls, Bgy. Kabungahan, San Andres, Catanduanes |
Our amazement for this province never ceased from the moment that we landed, and things just got better. As part of our whole day adventure-filled itinerary, we were brought by the San Andres Tourism Team to a trek to Talahid Falls.
Talahid Falls, like the other
untouched beaches that San Andres Tourism Team accompanied us to, was just recently discovered as part of their exploration activities (How I love their job!). It took thirty minutes of a slippery and challenging trek down a trail which is initially narrow and characterized by soft soil and tall grass and the hissing sounds of insects (just like a jungle scene from a suspense movie), which becomes wider and characterized by boulders and a stream as we neared the falls itself.

Although the San Andres Tourism Team's helpfulness was incomparable to other guides I have been with, the trek to Talahid Falls remained an arduous journey. Me and my twin took turns slipping, and my twin slipped so hard that it left a bruise with the size of a fist on her leg. For a while there I somewhat felt bad, since she admitted that it had been the most adventurous,
buwis buhay thing that she has done to date. But a part of me took pride because I was able to influence her to do something which she did not know she could do. We both agreed that being able to trek to a recently explored waterfalls in an ultimately remote location was the experience of a lifetime. Everything was magical - save for the bruise
(I'm really sorry!!!).
